We’re proud to share that Morson Vital has reached a major sustainability milestone: our near-term emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
This validation confirms our commitment to real, measurable climate action and aligns us with the global effort to keep temperature rise below 1.5°C, the threshold identified by the IPCC as critical to avoiding the most severe impacts of climate change.
By achieving SBTi validation, Morson Vital joins a network of more than 8,000 organisations worldwide taking science-based action to cut emissions in line with climate goals.
What This Means for Morson Vital

SBTi Services has confirmed that our Scope 1 and 2 emissions targets meet the SBTi Standards and Guidance, meaning our near-term reduction goals are consistent with the latest climate science.
To reach this stage, we undertook a comprehensive carbon inventory over the past year — analysing emissions across all scopes and subcategories in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This work established a transparent baseline, identified key sources of emissions, and informed a series of actionable reduction strategies.
Using the SBTi target-setting tool, we set robust, data-driven targets now validated by the SBTi.
Our Approved Near-Term Science-Based Targets
- Reduce absolute Scope 1 emissions by 58.8% by 2034 from a 2023 baseline
- Increase renewable electricity sourcing to 100% by 2030
- Reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 35% by 2034 from a 2023 baseline

“At Vital, sustainability means acting today without compromising tomorrow.
We go beyond compliance, embedding environmental care at the heart of our zero-harm goal. The validation of our near-term science-based targets by the SBTi marks a key step in our journey toward real climate action.”
About the Science Based Targets initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) empowers companies and financial institutions to take credible, science-aligned climate action. In 2021, the SBTi launched the world’s first Net-Zero Standard, providing a unified framework for businesses to decarbonise in line with the Paris Agreement and the 1.5°C pathway.
The SBTi sets best-practice guidance, validates corporate emissions targets, and ensures transparency and accountability in how organisations reduce their climate impact. Its founding partners include CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Acting for a Sustainable Future
This milestone reinforces Morson Vital’s long-term commitment to operate responsibly, minimise our environmental impact, and support a sustainable, resilient energy future.
Our validation by the SBTi is not the finish line, it’s the foundation for the next phase of our journey, as we continue to build a cleaner, more efficient, and more responsible industry.
